CONCORD — Concord police officials are seeking the public’s help regarding a 55-year-old man found dead Friday in the vicinity of Greenwood Avenue in downtown Concord.
The authorities have classified the incident as an “untimely death.”
The dead man was identified as Gregory Michael, 55, of Concord, last seen in the vicinity of Green Street Thursday at about 5 p.m.
At that time witnesses have told police Michael was having trouble walking and unidentified Good Samaritans tried to assist him.
Michael was described as a white male, 5 ft. 8 in. tall with medium build, gray hair and a gray beard wearing a dark-colored jacket, black pants and black boots.
He was carrying a dark-colored backpack at the time he was found.
Detectives said they believe Michael arrived in Concord Thursday at 4:30 after having been dropped off by a bus on North Main Street.
An autopsy was performed on Michael Sunday and the cause of death remains under investigation, officials said.
Police are asking for anyone who saw or helped someone matching Michael’s description to contact them.
