Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a small stream in Northwood.
According to a statement from Northwood Police Chief Glen Drolet, police were notified of the discovery Wednesday around 4 p.m. after a caller reported that he was walking his dog and spotted the body of a man between 40 and 50 years old just off a trail in a wooded area off Old Pittsfield Road.
An autopsy was performed Thursday morning and the man’s identity was confirmed, but his name has not been released pending notification of family.
The manner and cause of death is pending further investigation, but there is no risk or threat to the public, according to Drolet.
