Truck crash in Moultonborough

A collision between a 12-wheel dump truck loaded with sand and a Ford F650 flatbed pulling a goose neck trailer on Route 25 at the intersection of Sheridan Road in Moultonborough resulted in minor injuries. Traffic was snarled for hours as crews worked to right the toppled dump truck and clean up the load of sand it spilled.

Police were still at the scene working to reroute traffic, as a heavy-duty wrecker was deployed to right the toppled 12-wheel dump truck.

Meanwhile firefighters and highway department crews worked to shovel up the load of sand that spilled as the truck it came to rest on the driver’s side with its nose against a utility pole.

Emergency responders also placed absorbent pads on the ground around the wreckage to soak up any spilled fuels or other fluids. The second vehicle, a red dual wheeled truck with a Taylor Rental logo on the door, sustained major front end damage with the bulk of the cab destroyed. The crash occurred about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Sheridan Road.

State police at the scene said despite the damage to the vehicles preliminary reports were that both drivers suffered minor injuries.
