MANCHESTER — Manchester police officials were urging motorists to avoid Interstate 293 Northbound early Thursday evening after a multi-car accident tied up traffic during rush hour.
The accident happened just before 5 p.m. near Exit 6 at Amoskeag Bridge, officials said.
Traffic was backed for a few miles to the on-ramp onto the F.E Everett Turnpike southbound in Bedford.
According to witnesses, one motorist hit the median guardrail and then collided with at least one other car.
Manchester fire trucks and multiple ambulances responded to the scene according to officials.
There was no further information on the condition of any accident victims.
