KEENE — Keene State College’s music department is helping out the Manchester teen injured in last month’s fiery crash on Route 101.
The college performs a regular lunchtime concert at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Main Street, and Friday’s concert will include a fundraiser for Samuel Lachance.
Lachance, a student at the college, was badly injured in the January crash on Route 101 near Howes Reservoir.
Police say Lachance was driving a Jeep Wrangler west on Route 101 in Dublin when it crossed the two-lane highway and slammed into a tractor trailer. Lachance was flown by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is continuing to recover.
On the day of the crash, Lachance was headed back to Keene State to start the second semester of his freshman year. He is majoring in graphic design.
The College Brass Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir and Vocal Consort will perform at the concert. Cash or check donations will be collected at the door and all proceeds will go to Lachance and his family.
