NORTH HAMPTON — A Londonderry man likely faces charges after local police said he deliberately drove his car off the road and toward the ocean Friday night.

Vincent Medugno, 43, had driven his 2010 Honda Insight off Ocean Boulevard near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue at about 6 p.m., police said.

After the car landed on the rocks and partially in the ocean, Medugno was able to get out of the car on his own.

A town ambulance brought Medugno to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the U.S. Coast Guard and state Dept. of Environmental Services were notified regarding the leak of any fluids from the car into the ocean.

North Hampton police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at 964-2198.
