BEDFORD — A Massachusetts man critically injured when his motorcycle was rear-ended on Route 101 on Aug. 15 has died from his injuries.
Family members confirmed that James Raymond, 59, of Lunenburg, Mass., died last week.
According to his obituary, Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the military police, and had worked as a corrections officer, auxiliary police officer and EMT. He was also a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, a club for police officers, and Wild Pigs Motorcycle Club, a group for corrections officers.
Raymond was heading west on Route 101 on the night of Aug. 15 when his 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was struck from behind by a Dodge Dart driven by Andrew Scott Duffy, 22, of Keene, according to police. Raymond was thrown from his motorcycle and critically injured.
A gravesite committal service is set for Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. at the family lot in Greenville, Maine.
