MANCHESTER — City firefighters say a neighbor extinguished a small blaze on the third floor of a home on Cartier Street in Manchester.
According to Manchester District Fire Chief Mike Gamache, around 4:21 p.m. firefighters responded to reports of a building fire at 166 Cartier St.
According to Gamache, a neighbor knocked down the fire with a personal fire extinguisher before crews arrived. When fire personnel reached the address they opened up the walls, decking and ceiling where the fire had spread and extinguished any remaining flames.
No injuries were reported. The fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage, is under investigation by the Manchester Fire Marshal’s office.
