EPPING -- A 16-year-old driver and her juvenile passenger escaped injury after she lost control of her SUV and crashed into a house just before 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Police Capt. Jason Newman said the teenager was pulling out of Railroad Avenue to head north on Route 125 when she accelerated to get onto the highway safely, but then lost control and crossed onto property at 41 Jannell Court.

Her Chevy Trailblazer plowed into the side of the house, which was vacant and under renovation.

Newman said neither the driver nor the passenger were hurt. The building sustained heavy damage.
