HOOKSETT — A two-car accident on Hooksett Road sent three to the hospital early Friday afternoon and closed both sides of the busy thoroughfare, according to police.

Wreckage and debris were strewn about by the violent collision, which left a red sedan flipped onto its windshield and roof. The front passenger-side wheel and attached CV joint of a blue-gray SUV lay in the road following the crash. Both vehicles had New Hampshire plates.

Witnesses said on social media they saw the sedan go airborne over the median strip.

First responders used extrication tools to cut victims from the wreckage. One suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries; two others had more minor injuries.

After emergency vehicles arrived, the southbound side of Hooksett Road was restricted to one lane. The northbound side was reopened after 2 p.m., police said.
