DOVER — Training sessions for people who want to volunteer at the Strafford County Extreme Cold Weather Emergency Shelter are starting this week.

Protesters for homeless leave 'Live Freeze and Die' body bags at Dover City Hall

Officials say each session is the same and people are required to attend one of them in order to qualify as a volunteer at the shelter, which is located at 276 County Farm Road in Dover.

Anyone who is interested in helping address the homeless situation in Strafford County is encouraged to attend.

The sessions will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Somersworth Middle School, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McConnell Center cafeteria in Dover, Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Strafford County Alms House shelter site in Dover, and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rochester Public Library.

Registration for the training sessions is requested at www.signupgenius.com/go/SCColdShelter.
