Here is a list of 2019 Memorial Day parades and ceremonies in New Hampshire. If your town event is not listed, check with your local town/city hall or police department for dates and times.

MONDAY, May 27

ATKINSON: Memorial Day Parade, 9:30 a.m. Parade starts at Town Hall, goes to Academy Avenue, left on Leroy Avenue, right on Main Street and proceeds to the Town Common, where a Memorial Day ceremony will take place. Information: In the event of rain the parade will be cancelled, however, a Memorial Day ceremony will commence at the Atkinson Fire Department at 10:30 a.m. Any cancellation information will be posted on the Town of Atkinson’s Facebook page by 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.

BOW: Memorial Day Ceremony and Cookout. A wreath ceremony will be held at the Town Pond at 3:15 p.m. to honor all branches of the military. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets for the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Town Bandstand from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Food will be available from 5-7 p.m. Information:

CENTER HARBOR: Memorial Day Parade, noon-12:30 p.m. Parade route starts at Chase Circle, stops at library, town docks and Center Harbor Congregational Church cemetery. Information:

CONCORD: Memorial Day Parade, 9 a.m. Parade route follows Main Street to Franklin Street to North State Street to Capitol Street to the Statehouse plaza for a closing ceremony. Information:

DERRY: Memorial Day Parade, 11 a.m. Parade route begins at Hood Commons on Crystal Avenue, turns left onto East Broadway and will end at MacGregor Park (next to the Derry Public Library) where a ceremony and observances will take place. Information:

DOVER: Memorial Day Tribute, 11 a.m., Pine Hill Cemetery, GAR monument, 131 Central Ave. At noon, trained artillery experts will be conducting a Civil War cannon firing demonstration at the lower Pine Hill Cemetery fields (south of S. Watson Road). Information:

DUBLIN: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, 11:15 a.m. Parade route begins at Yankee Publishing’s parking lot, proceeds to the cemetery for a short ceremony, then returns to the village center for a closing ceremony. Information:

DURHAM: 72nd annual Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts at Mill Pond Road and heads to downtown and Memorial Park for a remembrance ceremony. Information:

ENFIELD: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts in front of the police station, Route 4, Oak Grove and heads up Main Street to the police station. Ceremonies at Veteran’s Park and Oak Grove Cemetery.

EPPING: Memorial Day Parade and Cookout, 10 a.m., American Legion. Cookout after the parade. Information:

EXETER: Memorial Day Parade, 10:30 a.m. Parade begins at Swasey Parkway and winds along Front Street to Gale Park, with guest speakers and a flag ceremony. Information:

GILFORD: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Information:

GREENLAND: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts in the Town Hall parking lot and heads to Remembrance Park for a ceremony. Information:

HANCOCK: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The parade heads down Main Street and continues to Norway Plains Cemetery. Information:

HAMPSTEAD: Memorial Day Observance, 10 to 11 a.m., at the bandstand behind the Town Offices. In the event of rain, the observance will be moved across the street to the Veterans Memorial Gymnasium. 329-4288.

HAMPTON FALLS: Memorial Day Ceremony, 9 a.m., Weare Common. Information:

HENNIKER: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts at Cogswell Memorial School, goes around the square to Circle Street and ends at the Angela Robinson Bandstand. Following the parade there will be a chicken barbecue fundraiser as well as free ice cream for kids at Community Park. Information:

HOLLIS: Memorial Day Ceremony, 5:15 p.m., Town Common. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be at the Lawrence Barn Community Center on Depot Road at 5:30 p.m. Information and order of service:

HOPKINTON: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. The parade starts at Cedar Street, takes a left on Main Street, crosses the bridge and stops at the Civil War stone on the north side of Pine Street. Continues up Main Street to Contoocook Village Cemetery.

HUDSON: Memorial Day Parade, 2 p.m. Parade starts at the Hannaford parking lot and continues to Derry Road and the Hudson Common. There will be a ceremony on the common, then the parade continues to the American Legion. Information:

KINGSTON: Memorial Day Parade, 1 p.m. Parade begins at Town Hall and proceeds up Church Street, left on North Road to the entrance of Greenwood Cemetery, where the formal Memorial Day observance will commence. Information:

LACONIA: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade begins at Wyatt Park, then marches up South Main and continues down Main Street, ending at Veteran’s Square. Information:

LONDONDERRY: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts at the high school on Mammoth Road, goes to Glenwood Cemetery, then returns to the Town Common. Ceremonies will be held at both the cemetery and the common. Information:

MANCHESTER: Memorial Day Parade, 2 p.m., Parade begins on Elm Street at Webster Street and continues to Veterans Memorial Park. Ceremony in Veterans Park immediately following the parade. Information:

MANCHESTER: Memorial Day Ceremony, 10:30 a.m., Eagle (Main) Entrance, Manchester VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Road. Rain or shine.

MEREDITH: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, 8 to 11 a.m. Parade gathers at the American Legion Post 33 on Plymouth Street at 9:30 a.m., then proceeds to the library on Main Street where a service will be conducted at the War Memorial, then proceeds to Swazey Cemetery on Lang Street, then to to the Hesky Park Bandstand’s POW/MIA Flagpole, where Bob Jones and Jeanie Forrester will speak. After the parade, there will be refreshments at the American Legion Post 33. Information:

MOULTONBOROUGH: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade begins at Blake Road near the Central School and continues on Route 25 to Town Hall. Information:

NASHUA: Memorial Day Parade, 10:30 a.m. Parade starts at Holman Stadium on Amherst Street, continues to City Hall on Main Street and ends at Elm Street Middle School. In the event of inclement weather, a Memorial Service will be held at the Elm Street Middle School.

PELHAM: The Moving Wall. Half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. on display, all day, Pelham Public Library, 24 Village Green. Free. Closing ceremony, including the Veterans Walk, 2:30 p.m.

PETERBOROUGH: Memorial Day Parade and Auxiliary’s Bake Sale, 8:30 a.m. The parade will proceed down Elm Street to Main Street to the Main Street Bridge and up Grove Street, stopping at the Memorial Gates (next to the Town House) for a ceremony. Seating available at the Memorial Gates. Information:

PLAISTOW: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, 9:15 a.m. Parade starts at Pollard School and ends at the Elm Street Cemetery for a service and ceremony at Town Hall. Information:

PLYMOUTH: Memorial Day Parade, 10:30 a.m. Parade starts at the National Guard Armory on Armory Road. Information:

PORTSMOUTH: Memorial Day Parade, 1 p.m. The Central Veterans Council Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service begins at the corner of Parrott and Junkins avenues, continues to Pleasant Street, through Market Square to Congress Street, onto Middle Street to Richards Avenue, and finally to South Cemetery. Information:

RAYMOND: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts on Main Street by Harriman Road, travels down Epping Street to the Pine Grove Cemetery and back. A short ceremony and 21-gun salute will immediately follow the parade on the Town Common at 11 a.m. Information:

ROCHESTER: Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Parade starts at the Holy Rosary Church, 189 N. Main St., proceeds to the bridge, then marches to the Commons.

SALEM: The Salem Veterans’ Association annual Memorial Day Services, 10:30 a.m., Pine Grove Cemetery, Main Street. A brief ceremony will be held at the Veterans’ Memorial. The ceremony will then proceed down Main Street to Veterans Memorial Park in the Town Common, where additional services will be held. The ceremony at the Town Common will begin at 11 a.m.

SANDOWN: Memorial Day Service, 9:30 a.m., Old Meetinghouse, 40 Fremont Road. There will be no parade this year. The Timberlane Regional High School Choir will provide music from the Meetinghouse Choir loft. Information:

SOMERSWORTH: American Legion Memorial Day Parade, 11 a.m. Parade starts at Constitutional Way, then goes from Green Street to Franklin Street to Main Street. A ceremony will be held at the Summersworth Museum, Service Men and Women Memorial located in the park. From there, the parade will continue along Main Street to the Berwick Bridge Ceremony, then return up High Street ending at Constitutional Way. Information:

STRATHAM: Memorial Day Celebration, 1:30 p.m. Parade starts on Jackrabbit Lane, then heads east onto Portsmouth Avenue to Stratham Hill Park. A Memorial Day program will be held at the Veterans Garden at Stratham Hill Park following the parade. Information:

WARNER: Memorial Day Parade, 8:30 a.m. Parade begins at the Wilins-Cloues-Bigelow-Pearson American Legion Post 39, marches across Main Street onto Kearsarge Mountain Road. The chaplain will then place flowers at the Soldiers Monument. The parade will continue on Kearsarge Mountain Road around the Masonic Lodge building, down Church Street and Main Street to the Warner Town Hall. The legion unit will conduct a flag-raising ceremony on the town hall lawn followed by a program in the town hall with a guest speaker, patriotic songs and the National Anthem. Information:

WINDHAM: Memorial Day Parade, 9:30 a.m. Parade begins at Windham Center School, heads down Lowell Road to Cobbetts Pond Road to Ministerial Road and ends at the Veterans’ Section of the Cemetery on the Plain. Information:, 965-1208.


BOSCAWEN: New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony, 11 a.m. Plan to arrive by 10:30 a.m. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. The ceremony normally runs for one hour. Information:
