TILTON — The New Hampshire Daughters of the American Revolution’s moving wall bearing dog tags with the names of New Hampshire’s 228 Vietnam War casualties will return to the New Hampshire Veterans Home on Monday, July 22, for a ceremony honoring the 48 Vietnam veterans who live at the Home.
DAR members will present pins and certificates of appreciation to the residents who served during the Vietnam era, who currently make up about a quarter of the Home’s population. The DAR conducted a similar ceremony at the Home in 2017, honoring about 50 residents.
The wall, a 36-foot-long set of panels studded with the replica dog tags, will be set up in the Home’s town hall auditorium as a backdrop at the event.
The event, organized by the DAR’s Mary Butler Chapter of Laconia, begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Home, located at 139 Winter St. in Tilton.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
