Infantry reunion upcoming

MILFORD — A reunion is being planned for those who have been assigned to CSC 3-172nd INF (MTN) or C Co 3-172nd INF (MTN) NH from the year 1984 up to the present. Family members are also welcome. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon, at the armory in Milford, 154 Osgood Road. Guard vets invited to lunch

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Army National Guard’s 11th annual retiree luncheon will be served Thursday, Sept. 19, at the New Hampshire National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Building in Concord.

The luncheon offers exhibits, a group photo and a briefing on the current status of the NHARNG.

The cost is $7 at the door.

Retirees who have not attended prior luncheons or who have relocated are urged to contact retired Command Sgt. Maj. David Follansbee at 603-623-7757 or dave_follansbee@comcast.net. NHARNG retirees who plan to attend the luncheon should RSVP no later than Friday, Sept. 6.

Sail on a Tall Ship

PORTSMOUTH — The Sail Portsmouth event, held Thursday through Sunday, is kicking off with the Parade of Sail on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

A Navy fireboat will provide a water salute to start the parade.

The Parade of Sail will feature five Tall Ships: Eagle, a Coast Guard cutter; Piscataqua, which berths in Portsmouth; Roseway; Lynx; and Harvey Gamage.

Boulder Point celebrating

PLYMOUTH — Harbor Homes will be cutting the ribbon at its new Boulder Point veterans’ housing facility at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6. Refreshments and tours will be offered. Vets Club baking clams

KINGSTON — The Kingston Veterans Club is hosting a full-blown clam bake Saturday, Aug. 24, for club members and bonafide guests.

The club will open at noon. There are four horseshoe pits in the backyard. The clam bake will last from 2 to 4 p.m., rain or shine, and will include select lobster, steamers, barbecue chicken and corn on the cob. A band will play from 5 to 9 p.m.

Tickets can be bought through Aug. 20 at the Veterans Club for $25 per person, or until tickets run out.
