PORTSMOUTH — Vouchers for Veterans, a nonprofit based in Rochester, is hosting a benefit dinner at the Portsmouth Elks Lodge at 500 Jones Ave. Oct. 19.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a cocktail hour on the deck, with dinner to follow.
Other activities include a cigar tasting; raffles; and a reception with the guest of honor and keynote speaker, retired Army Brig. Gen. Donald Bolduc, who is running for U.S. Senate.
Bolduc served 32 years of active duty in service to the country. He is the recipient of two awards for valor, five Bronze Star medals and two Purple Hearts. He was deployed 10 times to Afghanistan from 2001 through 2013.
The fundraising event will help Vouchers for Veterans, whose mission is to thank veterans in New Hampshire and Southern Maine for their service by providing them with vouchers to purchase food at a local farmer’s market.
