DOVER — A new Vet-To-Vet Café hosted by Wentworth Hospice will be held monthly at Langdon Place of Dover on the last Tuesday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m., with the first café debuting Oct. 29.
The café is for veterans only. The café will also be run by veterans and will offer a safe social environment for vets to gather, decompress and meet one another.
Future cafés will include discussions about challenges veterans are facing, and guest speakers who will cover topics of interest to veterans. The cafés will also include ceremonies honoring veterans’ service.
The cafés are being conducted under the umbrella of “We Honor Veterans,” a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. The program was initially conceived for hospice groups to honor veterans so no veteran is alone at the end of his or her life. The program, however, has grown to include non-hospice agencies and now offers a cultural environment where vets can meet, network, develop friendships and learn about important resources.
Wentworth Hospice is a Level 4 Community Partner in the We Honor Veterans program, and Langdon Place of Dover is a Level 3 Community Partner.
Veterans who would like to attend the cafés are asked to RSVP by calling 603-743-4110, ext. 224.
