For the past 18 years, members of the Department of New Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary have had the distinct opportunity and pleasure to serve on the board of trustees for the VFW National Home for Children located in Eaton Rapids, Mich.

The VFW National Home for Children serves as a living memorial to America’s veterans by helping our nation’s struggling military and veteran families. At the home, families work to identify what they need and want to accomplish. They may live in the home’s community for up to four years. During that time, they are also provided with education, daycare, basic needs, recreation, a case manager and more, all for free.

Dana Hussey, Dave Ouellette and Donna Knapper of the N.H. VFW and Auxiliary have each served on the board for six years, including one year as board president.

Those interested in joining the National Home for Children should contact the VFW’s Military & Veteran Family Helpline at 1-800-313-4200 or help@vfwnationalhome.org. More info is available at vfwnationalhome.org.
