A Christmas Carol, the Musical Ghost Story

Look for actor George F. Piehl as the chained ghost of Jacob Marley in this weekend’s production of “A Christmas Carol, the Musical Ghost Story” at the Concord City Auditorium.

CONCORD — Joel Mercier’s retelling of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” featuring leading New Hampshire actors George Piehl as Ebenezer Scrooge and John Conlon as Jacob Marley, returns for three shows in the Capital City this weekend.

This version of the classic tale will take the stage at the Concord City Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Written as a ghost story, the show offers some twists and turns on the classic tale of a miser who gets the scares of a lifetime with the help of three otherworldly companions.

More than 30 actors, singers and dancers from throughout New Hampshire will perform in the shows, which are produced by the North Country Center for the Arts Jean’s Playouse in Lincoln.

Additional performances of “A Christmas Carol: The Musical Ghost Story” are scheduled next weekend at the Lincoln stage.
