NASHUA — Artists got “Up Close and Personal” with interesting views of critters, insects, vegetables and more in an exhibit at the ArtHub Gallery, 30 Temple St.

The showing will hang through June 29, with hours running 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

The second annual juried spring showcase were chosen by juror Steve Syverson, president of the Arts League of Lowell.

The first-place ribbon went to Susan King for her acrylic painting “Pick of the Harvest,” which gives a close-up look at a red pepper.

Rose Carney took second place for her oil painting “Lady Mems.” She created this painting for her nephew, Nashua resident James Morey, whose favorite pet cat is depicted.

Claire Young was awarded third place for her photograph “Dragonfly — I’m ready for my close up.”

“The photograph of the dragonfly.. seemed like a perfect subject for the show’s theme, and the little dragonfly just seemed to enjoy the attention given while capturing its close-up,” she said.
