PLYMOUTH -- Icons of Vinyl, featuring Eric Clapton tribute group Journeyman and Tom Petty tribute group The Pettybreakers, will take over the Flying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center, 39 S. Main St., Plymouth, at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Journeyman's Shaun Hague at 17 was named "The Best Young Blues Guitarist” by The House of Blues and by 21 was playing guitar for blues phenom Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Hague, who sat in with John Fogerty on Jay Leno's show, has shared stages with Amos Lee, John Waite and Terra Naomi. Journeyman – A Tribute to Eric Clapton also features Robert Monroe (keys/vocals), Darius Peterson (drums) and Laura Lopardo (backing vocals). The group presents a retrospective of Clapton's work, from the band Cream to Bluesbreakers and all the way to “From The Cradle."
And expect plenty of Petty classics with The Pettybreakers, including "American Girl," "Break Down," "Free Fallin'," "Mary Jane's Last Dance," "Refugee" and more, which plays houses across the United States.
