CONCORD — Step into 2019 with five free New Year’s Day walks in New Hampshire state parks.

For a ninth year the Granite State will take part in America’s State Parks First Day Hikes. Jaunts on New Years Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1) will include: • Silver Lake State Park, self-guided, pet-friendly mile hike;

• Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion State Historic Site, 1.5-miles along the Little Harbor Loop Trail;

•Milan Hill State Park, cross-country skiing and show-shoeing on groomed trails;

• Pisgah State Park, gentle 2-mile round trip hike along Doolittle trail;

• Bear Brook State Park, 1.25 mile self-guided hike along Catamount Pond exercise trail, and weather permitting free horse-drawn wagon rides.
