Beede or Bearcamp Falls

Beede Falls is a well known swimming hole, where the small falls pour over a flat rock to an area known as "Cow Cave." It is especially nice after a heavy rainfall or during the spring, when the waters are thicker.

Champney and Pitcher Falls

Location: Albany, NH

Champney Falls, part of the White Mountains National Forest in New Hampshire, is a set of cascades and waterfalls flowing down a popular trail.

Directions: 11-12 miles from Conway off the Kancamagus Highway. Pull into the parking area. Champney Falls Trail leads to both falls.

Ellen's Falls

Location: Albany, NH

Directions: The falls are located approximately one mile up-stream from the Kancamagus Highway Bridge.

Fall of Song, Roaring Falls, Veil Falls, Whittier Falls

Directions: Located in Ossipee Mountain Park which is part of Castle Springs in Moultonborough.

Lower Falls of the Swift River

Nice swimming hole at this location with several pools and smooth rocks.

Directions: Located west of Conway just off the Kancamagus Highway.

Profile Falls

Location: Bristol, NH

Park beside the road here and take the trail near the sign which will lead down a steep path, through a wooded area, and then down a very steep path to beautiful Profile Falls.

Profile Falls is part of Smith River, and like everything in this hidden spot, the falls evoke a feeling of times past. If you look hard, and the water is flowing just right over the falls, you will see a human profile cut in the rock; thus the name Profile Falls.

Bring a picnic lunch and a camera, because this is a very scenic spot. With sandwiches, cold drinks, a blanket and a good book, there are few places more relaxing and peaceful than Profile Falls on a sunny summer or autumn day.

Directions: Off stretch of Route 3A between Hill and Bristol. Turn on to Smith Hill/Profile Falls Road.

Rocky Gorge

Water Source: Swift River

Location: Albany, NH

Also known as the Upper Falls of the Swift River. There is a footbridge over the gorge below the falls. A series of swimming pools surround the falls.

Directions: Located a couple miles from the Lower Falls on the Kancamagus Highway.

Sculptured Rock Falls

Height: 25'

Water Source: Cockermouth River

Location: Hebron, NH

Formed during the ice age, over 10,000 years ago, the Sculptured Rock Falls is a series of small cascades set against a deep gorge.

Directions: Interstate 93 to Plymouth. Take Route 3A south into Hebron and drive five miles past the intersection of Route 25. Take a right on North Shore Road, drive 2.4 miles onto Groton Road. Drive about 1.7 miles on that road and fork left onto Sculptured Rocks Road. A parking area will be another mile or so up on the left.

Welton Falls

Height: 25'

Water Source: Fowler River

Location: Alexandria, NH

Directions: Located off Welton Falls Road in Alexandria. Drive down the old town road on the left hand side just before the hill to find parking. Walk down this road and follow the trail diverging off to the left. This trail follows the brook for about 1/2 mile and leads to the falls.
