CANDIA — Buddy, a 3-year-old dwarf miniature horse, will lend a hoof to a spring celebration Saturday at The Farmer’s Wife, a farm stand and country store at the junction of routes 43 and 27.
The event, to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature face-painting, a bouncy house, kids’ yoga, and a visit from Buddy, who is in training to become a therapy horse. Rescued in 2016 from a neglected and malnourished herd of 12, Buddy stands at just 27 inches tall.
In addition to music from Nicole Knox Murphy, there will be a beer/wine tasting and food samplings. Also on hand will be master woodworker Dennis O’Shea, of DO Woodworks. Local fitness trainer Nicole Detellis will be on hand for demonstrations about RockTape and fascial training. Angela Castrigno will explore “Essential Oils 101 & DIY Rollerball Remedies.”
In its sixth year, the Farmer’s Wife specializes in New Hampshire-made specialty foods, beer and wine, as well as gifts, flowers and herbs and more. New this year is meats and meals from Smoke n’ Butts BBQ.
Owner Amy Sandler Komisarek also plans a guest lecture series, demonstrations, tastings and special events throughout the summer.
