It is Santa Fund time. The Union Leader Santa Fund for the Salvation Army is off on another annual effort to seek donations to help those in need this Christmas.
The needs, and the needy, change from year to year. Some people who have in the past been Santa Fund recipients have told us that they now make it a point to donate.
We suspect that happens more than we will ever know. No matter, we are just thankful for the effort.
Oftentimes, donations (which are printed in the newspaper now through the holiday) small and large are made in memory of some individual or group.
This year, we won’t be surprised to see some in memory of Mike Ryan, late beloved golf pro at Manchester’s Derryfield Country Club, or the late President George H.W. Bush, whose connections with New Hampshire run deep.
Santa Fund donations may be made online at www.UnionLeader.com/santafund; or mail to Santa Fund, c/o New Hampshire Union Leader, P.O. Box 9555, Manchester, NH., 03108; or by dropping your donation in the red Santa Fund box in our lobby here at 100 William Loeb Drive.
