Three cheers to Hannaford Supermarkets for again setting an example of good corporate culture in New Hampshire.

The grocery chain’s John E Devine Drive store sold a winning Tri-State Megabucks ticket worth $2.4 million this summer but the unidentified ticket-holder was not the only winner.

Under New Hampshire Lottery rules, the store earns a $24,000 commission.

Hannaford turned right around and donated that sum to Liberty House in Manchester.

Liberty House aids military veterans with transitional housing and other assistance. It has recently had a boost with its announced affiliation with Catholic Charities. Now it has a second summer boost, courtesy of Hannaford.

This kind of aid is nothing new for Hannaford but it is noteworthy all the same.
