“May God rest the soul of Elijah Cummings” was heard in the land two weeks ago.
A week earlier, some had said of Cummings, “May God bless his soul.”
Many who said the one could not have brought themselves to say the other.
And the great lesson of the week was thus taught.
To apply that lesson forward, merely select someone who, for whatever reason, you abhor.
Now say: “God bless his soul.”
You have just made the world a better and more civil place.
Thank you, Elijah.
