He calls some of his restaurants “The Common Man” but that’s ironic. Owner Alex Ray is a most uncommon individual.

Last Wednesday, Ray’s company directed that 25 percent of that day’s receipts be donated to the Red Cross and other relief efforts supporting the post-hurricane cleanup in the Bahamas.

Ray himself was not at his restaurants. He was reported to have gone to the Bahamas to help in the effort.

That would be no surprise. He did the same after the Puerto Rico hurricane in 2017.

On a regular basis, the Common Man and his other businesses (The Airport Diner in Manchester, the Flying Monkey Theatre in Plymouth, etc.) step up to help support community efforts.

Ray also employs a lot of Granite Staters and treats them well. Alex Ray is a credit to New Hampshire. Oh, the food is good, too.
