To The Editor: Among the skills required of a successful chief executive is her/his ability to stay focused on many issues, and not just the high-profile ones.
This latter category is what “makes the news,” however, it is not often that attention is given to other items that will make a difference in the quality of life for the citizens of a community.
Here in Manchester, we are most fortunate to have Joyce Craig as our chief executive, who delivers on her commitments.
An area that is of particular interest to me is the significant investment that the city has made to modernize and expand the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT). As mayor, she has successfully recruited an outstanding airport director to oversee daily operations, as well as one with a vision for the future. Another example of Mayor Craig’s leadership is the recent initiative to partner MHT with the Aviation Museum and Manchester School of Technology (MST) in a unique program referred to as “Build-a-Plane.” This program will serve as a catalyst to expand student interest in the various fields in aviation and technology.
I strongly endorse Joyce Craig as mayor of this great city, and encourage city voters to reelect her in order that she be able to carry through on the many initiatives that she has underway.
We have much for which to be grateful, and the continuity of leadership is critical to our city’s continued success.
