To the Editor: A number of recent Letters to the Editor by Trump supporters accuse anti-Trumpers of suffering from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) but they fail to recognize that they themselves suffer from a similarly abbreviated but much more serious affliction: TDS (Trump Delusional Syndrome).
They are under the delusion that Trump was ever qualified to be President, that he had real plans to solve the country’s problems, that he was honest, that he would work in the best interests of the country, that he was successful based on his own hard work, that he was smart and stable.
Some writers say that we anti-Trumpers are trying to overturn his election. Oh please, give me a break. Our desire to hold Trump accountable is because of his incompetence, corruption, self-dealing, bullying, lying, narcissism, etc. (I could name another dozen similar things he’s the best at.)
Trump puts his personal, financial and political interests above the country’s interests. He has repeatedly violated his oath of office. When Trump said he would drain the swamp what he really meant was he’d dredge the swamp to make it bigger and deeper.
It’s time to change the channel on this dumpster fire reality show. I need only one campaign sign for 2020: SAVE AMERICA. DUMP TRUMP.
