To the Editor: What’s in a name?

We are now faced with the choice of being pigeonholed as a white supremacist when we call ourselves nationalist, America Firsters, or conservative constitutionalists

Nothing could be further from the truth.

There is a difference between wanting America to have a level playing field and having fascist political leanings. Love of country doesn’t mean hate or mistrust of anyone regardless of race, religion or national origin.

I certainly don’t think my Democrat friends are all socialist, communists or members of Antifa.

It is certainly time to debate policy without the name calling or labeling. Our country is at stake, we are falling into the trap that election tampering bots had as a goal for their efforts.

So think about that the next time you are tempted to join the mob.

Our ideas need to be good enough to convince the independent voters and open-minded opponents. Politics does not have to be dirty. It can accomplish progress for the greater good.
