MANCHESTER — Friday’s boys’ basketball season opener between Trinity and Manchester Memorial came less than a week after the teams were formed. The quick turnaround showed, with stretches of dysfunction and chaos by both clubs.

Right-hander Jordan Romano, who went 11-8 in 2018 for the Toronto Blue Jays’ Double-A team, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, was acquired by the Chicago White Sox in the Major League Baseball Rule 5 Draft on Thursday. The White Sox then traded Romano to Texas.
