NCAA Football: Rose Bowl Game-Ohio State vs Washington

Dwayne Haskins passed for 251 yards and three touchdowns, leading No. 6 Ohio State to a 28-23 victory over No. 9 Washington in the Rose Bowl on Tuesday in Pasadena, Calif.

The game marked the last one for Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer, who will be replaced by Manchester, N.H.’s Ryan Day, a former Central and UNH star quarterback.

Washington made it close when Myles Gaskin scored on a 2-yard run with 42 seconds remaining, but Ohio State recovered the ensuing onside kick and ran out the clock. Jake Browning threw for 313 yards for the Huskies, who trailed 28-3 before rallying late.

Kentucky 27, Penn State 24: No. 14 Kentucky reached 10 wins for only the third time in program history with a win Tuesday over No. 12 Penn State in the VRBO Citrus Bowl at Orlando, Fla.

Benny Snell Jr. rushed for 144 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns to pace the Wildcats (10-3). Receiver Lynn Bowden ran a punt back 58 yards for a score late in the first period and also caught five passes for 84 yards.

Iowa 27, Miss. State 22: Nate Stanley threw three touchdown passes and Jake Gervase came up with a key interception as Iowa upset No. 18 Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

LSU 40, UCF 32: Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes as No. 11 LSU defeated No. 8 Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz., ending the nation’s longest active winning streak at 25 games.
