Dartmouth's three-goal outburst in the second period didn't hold up as the Big Green suffered a 7-3 loss to Harvard on Friday night in Dartmouth's men's hockey season opener in Boston.
Daniel Warpecha, Harrison Markell and Quin Foreman scored for the Big Green, who saw their run quickly countered by a three-goal burst by Harvard in a 2:37 span that put the Crimson up 5-3 after two.
Jack Rathbone scored two goals for Harvard. Colton Kerfoot, Jack Drury, John Farinacci and Nick Abrusseze also scored. Abrusseze added two assists, and Casey Dornbach notched three helpers. Farinacci had an assist as well.
Dartmouth visits UNH at the Whittemore Center tonight at 7.
