SaBastian Townes hit a 3-pointer with 17.6 seconds remaining to lift the Bryant men’s basketball team to a 68-67 victory over Dartmouth on Friday in Smithfield, R.I.
Junior James Foye had a career-high 23 points for the Big Green, who dropped to 8-6 and had their four-game winning streak snapped.
After Townes’ trifecta, Dartmouth had two chances to retake the lead. On the first, Brendan Barry drove the lane but had his shot blocked. After two missed free throws by Townes, a desperation shot from midcourt bounced off the back iron.
Barry finished with 13 points. Dublin’s Ian Sistare added 10 points and a personal-best nine rebounds for the Big Green, who host Granite State rival UNH on Sunday, Dec. 30 at noon.
