Boston College tight end Hunter Long, of Exeter, crosses the goal line for a touchdown against Pitt on Saturday.

Exeter High grad Hunter Long, a redshirt sophomore at Boston College, was named the tight end for the New England Football Writers Division I All-New England Team announced on Monday.

Dartmouth College leads the team with four players, plus coach Buddy Teevens, named the Jack Grinold University Division Coach of the Year for the third time in 20 seasons.

Defensive back Prince Smith, a senior from Philadelphia, represented the University of New Hampshire.

Long has 26 catches for 464 yards and two touchdowns this season, including a 25-yard TD reception last Saturday in the Eagles’ win over Pittsburgh.

Dartmouth landed offensive lineman Zach Sammartino, a senior, and three defenders: Niko Lalos, a senior linebacker, Jack Traynor, a senior linebacker, and Isiah Swann, a senior defensive back. All four players were named the All-Ivy League First Team last week.

The Big Green went 6-1 in the Ivy League (9-1 overall) to share the title with Yale.
