Emily Bevens picked a good time to score her first goal of the season.

The junior midfielder from Pelham scored the game’s only goal on a penalty stroke at the 71:09 mark to lift third-seeded Saint Anselm to a 1-0, double-overtime victory over No. 2 East Stroudsburg University in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship in Biemesderfer Stadium in Millersville, Pa., on Friday.

The Hawks (20-2) will take on top-seeded West Chester (19-1) in their first-ever national championship game Sunday at 1 p.m. West Chester beat Kutztown 2-1 in the other semifinal.

Junior goalkeeper Julia Hand made three saves to secure Saint Anselm’s 20th shutout win of the season.
