Playing on its home court for the first time in nearly a month, the Dartmouth women’s basketball team used Leede Arena to its advantage and the energy from a packed School Day crowd to bury Boston University, 64-44, Wednesday afternoon.

Dartmouth scored 28 points in the paint and outscored the Terriers, 17-6, on second chance points.

Dartmouth improves to 3-4 on the season and 2-0 on its home court. The Terriers fall to 4-3 on the year.

Paula Lenart recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Isalys Quinones led the team in scoring with 15 points to along with seven rebounds. Kealy Brown scored in double figures for the third straight game with 13 points, five assists and four rebounds. Annie McKenna posted nine points and led the team with six assists, while Cy Lippoldalso came away with nine points.

Merrimack 71, Franklin Pierce 58: In North Andover, Mass., Ravens freshman forward Izzy Lipinski chipped in her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

With the win, the Warriors snap a three-game losing streak and earned their first conference victory at 5-4, 1-4 NE-10 while the Ravens are 1-7, 0-5 in the league.

Lipinski matched a personal-best in rebounds (12) and blocks (3) as seven of her 12 boards came on the offensive end.

Alyssa Casey for Merrimack produced a game-best 20 points to go along with six rebounds and two blocks. Mayson Kimball added 19 points with eight rebounds.

Southern Maine 60, Plymouth State 51: In Gorham Maine, Cassidy Emerson of Concord recorded her fourth double-double of the season for the Panthers.

With the setback PSU drops to 5-4 (0-3 LEC), while the Huskies improve to 5-2 and 2-1 in LEC action.

Jess Conant led the Panthers with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Emerson finished 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Chenysse Hill chipped in with nine points, five rebounds and four assists.

Brittany Roche of Londonderry came off the bench for 11 points, including three triples, and senior Debra Morrill of Concord dished out a game-high five assists.

Men's basketball

Plymouth State 80, Southern Maine 70: In Gorham, Maine, freshman Manny Alisandro of Manchester led the Panthers (6-3, 3-0 Little East) with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Bryton Early of Somersworth had  17 points and four assists, and junior Jaylen LeRoy of Manchester notched 13 points, nine rebounds, eight assists.

Quinnipiac 64, Dartmouth 59: In Hanover, Chris Knight poured in a career-high 23 points, but Cameron Young countered with 21 for visiting Quinnipiac. The Bobcats (3-4) snapped a two-game slide, while the Big Green (4-5) lost for the first time on its home court this season.

Franklin Pierce 86, Merrimack 83: In North Andover, Mass., guard Sean Fasoyiro recorded the first double-double of his collegiate career as the Ravens snapped a two-game losing skid.

The Ravens even their record at 4-4, 2-2 NE10 while the Warriors fall to 5-5, 3-3 NE10.

Fasoyiro scored 14 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds, three offensive. Four other Ravens tallied double-digit scoring efforts led by Jeremy Arthur, who came off the bench and dropped in 18 markers. Freshman guard Isaiah Moore knocked down16 points. Moore added three steals. Doyin Fadojutimi and Falu Seck produced 14 and 13 points respectively.

Juvaris Hayes carried the load for Merrimack with a game-best 28 points.
