St. Anselm’s Tim Guers, shown earlier this season, and his Hawks teammates will host the East Regional starting Saturday.

All five starters scored in double figures to lead the Saint Anselm College men’s basketball team to a 100-69 victory over Assumption on Wednesday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in Goffstown.

Londonderry’s Cody Ball led all scorers with 27 points. The Hawks (18-4, 14-3 NE-10) received 23 points from senior Tim Guers, who became the school’s all-time scoring leader with 2,101 points, surpassing 2006 grad Matt Cahill, who had 2,081.

St. Anselm also got 17 from Danny Evans, 15 from Chris Paul and 10 from Gustav Suhr-Jessen. Ball made five of his nine 3-point attempts. The Hawks connected on 12 of 19 3-point attempts in the game.

SNHU 84, Bentley 79: In Waltham, Mass.: Daquaise Andrews scored a team-high 30 points and Eamonn Joyce finished with 29 to lead the Penmen (12-10, 8-9 NE-10) to the road victory. Joyce also had 10 rebounds.

Franklin Pierce 89, Merrimack 76: In Rindge, Doyin Fadojutimi tossed in a game-high 29 points — 21 in the second half — and was one of four Ravens to score in double figures. Fadojutmi made six 3-pointers in nine attempts and was 9 of 16 from the field. Franklin Pierce (13-11, 9-8 NE-10) outscored Merrimack 49-32 in the second half.

Plymouth State 102, Southern Maine 86: In Plymouth, Manchester’s Jaylen LeRoy and Dante Rivera each poured in a game-high 23 points and the Panthers made 11 of their 24 3-point attempts. Somersworth’s Bryton Early added 15 points for Plymouth State (13-12, 7-9 NE-10).

Vermont 73, UNH 44: In Burlington, Vt., Nick Guadarrma and Marque Maultsby scored a team-high 11 points as the Wildcats dropped to 3-21 overall, 1-10 in America East.

Women’s basketball

Bentley 72, SNHU 66: In Waltham, Mass.: The Penmen dropped to 15-9 overall (9-8 NE-10) despite a game-high 26 points from forward Kylie Lorenzen, who also led the Penmen with seven rebounds. Guard Karlee Ziliak added 11 points for SNHU.

Assumption 65, Saint Anselm 64 (OT): In Goffstown, the Hawks overcame a six-point halftime deficit to carry a two-point lead into the fourth quarter before losing in overtime. Peyton Steinman (20), Shannon Ryan (15) and Sara Messler (12) scored in double figures for the Hawks (16-6, 11-6 NE-10).

Southern Maine 91, Plymouth State 66: In Plymouth, Jess Conant tossed in a game-high 24 points for the Panthers, who were outscored 53-28 in the second half. Brooke Beaudet (12), Debra Morrill (11) and Cassidy Emerson (10) also scored in double figures for Plymouth State (10-14, 4-12 LEC).

Merrimack 83, Franklin Pierce 70: In Rindge, Merrimack outscored Franklin Pierce 24-15 in the second quarter to build a 10-point halftime lead and wasn’t threatened in the second half. Sophia Holmes tossed in a game-high 26 points for Franklin Pierce (4-18, 2-15 NE-10).

Vermont 51, UNH 50: In Durham, Ivy Gogolin and Caroline Soucy each had double-doubles in the Wildcats' loss. Soucy had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Gogolin added 16 points and 12 rebounds. UNH dropped to 6-19 overall, 3-9 in America East.
