The Northeast-10 Conference basketball coaches have spoken and they predict Saint Anselm College will do great things.
On Thursday, league coaches picked the Saint Anselm women to win the Northeast Division title. The Hawks, the reigning NCAA Division II East Region champs and NCAA quarterfinalists, received 83 points and eight first-place votes. Saint Anselm returns top scorer and rebounder Shannon Ryan, a senior.
Southern New Hampshire University picked up 50 points to finish fourth and Franklin Pierce earned 28 points to take seventh (last) in the Northeast Division. Le Moyne was chosen as the Southwest Division’s top club.
On Wednesday, the Saint Anselm men earned 78 points (five first-place votes) and were the choice to win the Northeast. Franklin Pierce and SNHU held down the fourth spot, each with 60 points. The Ravens earned three first-place votes.
Dartmouth hockey team plays preseason game on Saturday
The Dartmouth College men’s hockey team will play its only preseason game on Saturday at 3 p.m., hosting rival Harvard at Thompson Arena in Hanover. The game is free and open to the public.
The teams will open the regular season at Harvard on Friday, Nov. 1.
UNH women's soccer team blanks Maine, 2-0
Ally Reynolds scored both goals as the UNH women's soccer team beat Maine 2-0 on Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium in Durham. Cat Sheppard made three saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
The Wildcats improved to 7-6-0, 3-2-0 in America East. Maine dropped to 5-6-1 and 1-4-1.
