The University of New Hampshire football team will play 11 games next season, including five at home, as the schedule was announced on Thursday.

The Wildcats will open at Kansas of FBS’ Big 12 Conference on Saturday, Sept. 5. UNH will open at home the next weekend, Saturday, Sept. 12, against CAA foe Richmond.

UNH’s other league contests are Sept. 19 at Rhode Island, Oct. 10 at home to Stony Brook, Oct. 24 at Elon, Oct. 31 at Towson, Nov. 7 at home to William & Mary, Nov. 14 at home to Albany and Nov. 21 at Maine.

The Wildcats’ Homecoming game will come Saturday, Oct. 3, against Merrimack College.

Their other nonconference affair comes Sept. 26 at Colgate.

Plymouth State hockey team wins, 5-3

Jake Gerbner’s power-play goal early in the third period broke a tie and helped the Plymouth State men’s hockey team past host Worcester State 5-3 in a MASCAC hockey contest on Thursday night.

The Panthers improved to 3-1 in the league, 3-2 overall, while Worcester State dropped to 3-1 and 4-2.
