Women's soccer: Carney gets hat trick for SNHU
Sophomore Sydney Carney recorded a hat trick in Southern New Hampshire University's 5-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College (N.Y.) on Tuesday.
Carney was one of three players to score for the Penmen's women's soccer team, with junior Allyson Patterson and freshman Victoria Roulston joining her.
It was the first time Carney had ever scored multiple times in a match and it took her only four shots to do so. She found the back of the net in the fifth minute to put SNHU ahead 1-0, and added goals in the 65th and 69th minutes.
SNHU is 7-3-0 and will play Saturday at Le Moyne College at 11 a.m.
