Plymouth State University’s run game accounted for 85% of its total offense in the Panthers’ 34-9 win over Worcester State at Currier Field on Saturday.
Led by David Hamilton’s 142 yards on 17 carries, PSU piled up 303 of its 357 total yards from scrimmage on the ground and nearly had a second 100-yard rusher in Nick Lancia, who took 11 handoffs for 86 yards.
Both backs found the end zone at least once, with Lancia producing 7- and 15-yard scores within a three-and-a-half minute span early in the second period. Hamilton scored with 2:49 remaining in the third to put PSU up 27-3.
Brett Lavanchy finished 7-of-14 passing for 54 yards, including a nine-yard strike to Terrell Lewis that increased the Panthers’ lead to 34-9 in the fourth.
William McGlynn had a 6-yard touchdown for Worcester State.
