The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second period and scored the next four to take down Manhattanville College, 6-4, on Friday afternoon in Plattsburgh, N.Y., in the opening round of the W.B. Mason Classic.

Six players scored for the Hawks: Dave Almeida, Brian Green, Sean Verrier, Kilian Hammersmith, Brian Cameron and Anthony Iacullo. Colin Soucy made 30 saves.

Matt Lippa had a hat trick for Manhattanville.

The Hawks will play Plattsburgh State in the championship pf the W.B. Mason Classic tonight at 7.

Trip to Minn. nets Hawks women a victory

The Saint Anselm College women’s hockey team got a big win a long way from home on Friday.

Madison Sprague, Jamie Gottwald and Jayden Young scored as the Hawks beat St. Scholastica 3-2 in Duluth, Minn. Sprague, a sophomore, hails from White Bear Lake, Minn.

Saint Anselm, which lost to Hamline University 6-2 on Thursday in St. Paul, Minn., received 17 saves from Michaela Kane on Friday to improve to 12-2-1. The hosts dropped to 8-4-1.
