Six players hit double figures as the he Saint Anselm College men's basketball team stayed unbeaten with a 95-72 victory over Saint Michael's College on Tuesday night in Colchester, Vt.
Londonderry's Cody Ball led the way with 17 points, followed by Tim Guers (16), Danny Evans (15), Miles Tention (13), Gustav Suhr-Jessen (11) and Chris Paul (10).
The Hawks, ranked fourth nationally in Division II, improved to 7-0 overall, 4-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference. St. Mike's dropped to 3-5 and 1-5.
New England College 82, Dean College 57: In Henniker, Ricky Leonard scored 19 points to lead a balanced attack for the Pilgrims in their NECC opener. NEC is 5-1 overall.
Seton Hall 77, UNH 57: In Newark, N.J., junior Ricky Lester scored a career-high 12 points for the Wildcats (2-7). The Pirates improved to 5-3.
Colby-Sawyer 82, Norwich 68: In New London, Patrick Coffey poured in 27 points and Manchester's Jourdain Bell added 22. Franklin's Dana Bean also chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Chargers improved to 4-2.
Saint Anselm 82, Saint Michael's 59: In Colchester, Vt., junior Shannon Ryan scored 20 points and added 13 rebounds as the Hawks improved to 8-1 overall, 5-1 in the NE-10.
Colby 2, Saint Anselm 0: In Waterville, Maine, Saint Anselm goalie Colin Soucy made 31 saves, allowing only a third-period goal. The Mules added an empty-netter with 11 seconds remaining. The Hawks dropped to 7-6-0.
UNH 2, Dartmouth 0: In Hanover, Wildcats goalie Kyra Smith made 31 saves for the team's first shutout of the season. Rochester's Taylor Wenczkowski and Nicole Dunbar scored for UNH (6-9-3), which has won four in a row. The Big Green dropped to 3-9-1.
Saint Anselm 2, Franklin Pierce 1: Caley Mueller scored a shorthanded goal at 12:07 of the third period, breaking a 1-1 tie. Bridgette Prentiss also scored for the Hawks, who improved to 10-1-1, 8-0-1 in the NEWHA.
