In his final game at Saint Anselm College on Saturday, Londonderry’s Eric Fairweather had a monster effort.

On Sunday, Fairweather was named the winner of the prestigious Division II/III Gold Helmet Award from the New England Football Writers Association.

Fairweather had 605 yards of total offense in the Hawks’ season-ending 61-23 win over Assumption. He accounted for six touchdowns, passing for four and rushing for two.

Fairweather was 26-for-34, for 453 yards, and ran 18 times for 152 yards. The senior captain concluded his career on the Hilltop as the college’s all-time leader in rushing TDs (34), second in rushing yards (2,225) and third in passing yards (6,110).

Dublin's Sistare leads Big Green

Dublin’s Ian Sistare scored a team-high 15 points to help the Dartmouth basketball team past UMass Lowell 80-75 in overtime on Sunday.

The Big Green, which squandered a 19-point lead before rallying in overtime, improved to 4-1. The River Hawks dropped to 2-5.
