The Erie SeaWolves scored twice in the first and never trailed in a 4-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Eastern League play Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The teams continue the three-game series Saturday night at 7.
The SeaWolves' Derek Hill scored on a throwing error by Fisher Cats starter Yennsy Diaz and an RBI grounder by Kody Eaves. Chave Numata homered in the fourth and Eaves tripled home a run in the fifth to put the visitors ahead 4-0.
Forrest Wall singled home Christian Williams in the fifth and Josh Palacios homered in the eighth to account for New Hampshire's runs.
Matt Manning (10-4) got the win with six innings of four-hit, one-run ball. he struck out 10 and walked none. The run was unearned. Drew Carlton went two innings, allowing one run, for his 15th save.
Diaz allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits in six innings. He fanned seven and walked one.
