A pair of ninth-inning errors on consecutive plays gave the Portland Sea Dogs a 3-2 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.

In the bottm of the ninth, with the teams tied 2-2, leadoff man Chris Madera reached first on fielding error by second baseman Bo Bichette. He then came all the way around when third baseman Cavan Biggio threw away Danny Mars’ sacrifice bunt.

Zach Jackson (2-3) was tagged with the loss, pitching to those two batters only. Jordan Weems (4-3) pitched a scoreless ninth and earned the win.

Each team scored two runs in the sixth. Biggio had the big hit for New Hampshire, a two-run double to left. Portland answered in the bottom of the frame on a two-run homer by Michael Chavis.

Fisher Cats starter T.J. Zeuch pitched well, going five innings and allowing two hits and no runs. He walked two and struck out five.

The teams take their act to Manchester for a scheduled doubleheader today starting at 5:35 p.m.
