The New Hampshire Fisher Cats received effective pitching and a pair of key RBI doubles to beat the host Binghamton Rumble Ponies 4-1 in an Eastern League game on Tuesday night. 

Starter Hector Perez (1-1) earned the win by working five shutout innings. Jake Fishman followed with two shutout innings before Andrew Case (1 2/3 innings, one run) and Kirby Snead (one-third of an inning) finished up, with Snead earning his third save.

Fisher Cats pitching allowed a total of nine hits.

Kevin Smith hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and New Hampshire tacked on two insurance runs in the fifth on run-scoring doubles by Joshua Palacios and Santiago Espinal.

The teams complete their series tonight in Binghamton. The Fisher Cats return home for the opener of a homestand on Thursday night against Hartford.
