The Trenton Thunder and New Hampshire Fisher Cats each collected seven hits, but the host Thunder made theirs count in a 6-1 Eastern League victory on Monday night.

Angel Aguilar had the biggest blow, a two-run single in a four-run third inning, as the Thunder pulled away in the opener a three-game series.

Daniel Alvarez (4-0), the third of four Trenton pitchers, worked two scoreless innings for the win.

Forrest Wall and Kevin Smith had two singles each for the Fisher Cats, who scored their run in the third on a wild pitch.

Starter Hector Perez (1-2) took the loss.

The teams play in Trenton again tonight.
