The top three batters in the Binghamton order had a productive night, collecting a total of seven hits and scoring four runs in the Rumble Ponies' 6-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
Andres Gimenez had a double and two singles, Braxton Lee had a double and scored two runs, and David Thompson added a double, two singles and scored twice for the visitors in the opener of the Fisher Cats' homestand. The game also marked the end of the first half of the Eastern League season.
Starter Hector Perez (4-3) took the loss for New Hampshire, allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits over five innings. He walked three and fanned four, and allowed a two-run homer to Will Toffey in the fifth inning.
Josh Palacios had a big offensive night for the Fisher Cats, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Each team collected 12 hits.
The series resumes Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
